10.2  |  The library has at least one staff member located onsite with sufficient IT expertise to maintain the library's network and public technology systems

Having library staff at each location who have sufficient expertise to maintain the library's network and computers can help libraries cut down on out-of-service time, recover more quickly from network failures, and plan better for system improvements and policy changes. Onsite in this context means that at least one staff member with sufficient IT expertise is assigned to each library location. In general IT-related duties should be this staff member's primary duty.
